Technical Project Manager - 8month FTC

Technical Project Manager - 8Month FTC

Fixed-term contract for the duration of Programme Drive

The Opportunity

Lawfront is a fast-growing, PE-backed group of seven leading law firms, and Programme Drive is the technology transformation bringing them together. We are migrating each hub firm off its legacy platforms and onto a single, modern Lawfront stack of Aderant Expert Sierra, Clio Operate, NetDocuments, and Intapp Time, and we are looking for a Technical Project Manager to own the delivery of those migrations, hub by hub.

This is a hands-on, fixed-term programme role for someone who is comfortable in the technical detail as well as in the plan. You will coordinate configuration, data, migration, and test workstreams across concurrent hub deployments, hold suppliers to their commitments, and give programme leadership a clear, honest picture of progress, risk, and readiness. When something threatens a go-live, you will be the person who sees it early and drives a way through.

If you have a track record of delivering complex technical migrations, can hold your own with technical teams and senior stakeholders alike, and are energised by getting difficult things over the line, we would like to hear from you.

What You Will Do

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of hub migration workstreams, planning and sequencing the move from legacy platforms onto the Lawfront stack of Aderant Expert Sierra, Clio Operate, NetDocuments, and Intapp Time
  • Build and maintain realistic, detailed delivery plans, managing scope, schedule, dependencies, and critical path across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Run effective governance, including risk, assumption, issue, and dependency (RAID) management, with clear and honest reporting to programme leadership
  • Coordinate the configuration, data, migration, and test teams so that each workstream lands in the right order and nothing falls between the gaps
  • Manage delivery against migration and go-live gates, ensuring that entry and exit criteria are met before a hub firm proceeds
  • Manage third-party suppliers and software vendors, holding them to their commitments on timescales, quality, and deliverables
  • Identify, escalate, and drive the resolution of risks and blockers early, finding practical paths through competing priorities and constraints
  • Keep stakeholders across the hub firms and the central programme informed, aligned, and confident through clear communication and well-run forums
  • Maintain the delivery tooling and artefacts that give the programme visibility of progress, risk, and readiness
  • Capture the lessons from each hub go-live and feed them into a sharper, more repeatable migration playbook for the hubs that follow

 What You Will Bring

  •  A track record of delivering technical or systems migration projects end to end, ideally within a professional services, legal, or similarly regulated environment
  • Strong project management discipline across planning, scheduling, dependency management, RAID, and governance, with the ability to run several workstreams at once
  • Genuine comfort with the technical content of a delivery, including application configuration, data migration, and integration, so that you can challenge and coordinate technical teams credibly
  • Proven supplier and vendor management skills, with the confidence to hold third parties to account without damaging the relationship
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across both technical teams and senior business stakeholders, with reporting that is clear and honest about status and risk
  • Sound judgement under delivery pressure, with the ability to make sensible trade-offs while protecting quality and go-live readiness
  • The resilience and drive to keep multiple migrations moving, and the organisation to keep everyone informed without needing to be chased

 What Would Set You Apart

  •  Experience delivering migrations onto, or implementations of, Aderant, Clio, NetDocuments, or Intapp
  • Experience delivering technology change within a law firm or professional services group, with an understanding of how fee earners and support functions are affected by a platform migration
  • Familiarity with delivery tooling such as monday.com, and the discipline to keep it current and genuinely useful
  • Comfort working across both structured (waterfall) and iterative (agile) delivery approaches, and the judgement to know when each one fits
  • Recognised project or programme management qualifications, for example PRINCE2, APM, or PMP
