Law Students Vacation Scheme 

Location: Sale – Crossgate House 
Duration: 2 consecutive weeks between July 2026 – August 2026

About the Programme 

Our Vacation Scheme is designed for ambitious law students, primarily in second year, who want a meaningful, structured insight into life at a professional legal firm. 

Over two weeks, you’ll gain hands on experience, structured learning, and exposure across multiple practice areas — all while being supported by experienced legal professionals. 

The programme will provide a minimum of 60 hours of Work Experience that will align to some curriculum requirements for work experience as part of your legal studies. 

What You’ll Experience 

During the placement, you will: 

• Take part in 2–3 structured seat rotations, giving you exposure to different legal areas
• Work on realistic tasks and case studies, designed to build practical legal skills
• Be paired with qualified Solicitors and Trainee Solicitors for guidance and mentorship
• Join a cohort of students, creating opportunities for peer learning and support
• Deliver an end of placement presentation, reflecting on your experience and development
• Receive guidance and advice to help you develop beyond the placement 

You’ll receive 360 degree feedback, helping you understand your strengths and areas for growth as you continue your legal career from each area you experience as well as our careers team. 

What We’re Looking For 

We’re keen to hear from students who: 

• Are currently in their second year of a law degree or similar study
• Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in law
• Are curious, motivated, and eager to learn
• Can demonstrate strong communication skills and confident in a client facing role
• Are keen to gain practical insight into the legal profession 

You don’t need prior legal work experience — just enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to get involved.

Whilst we want to support as many individuals as possible, we will have a limited number of placements available that we have evaluated will allow us to ensure a quality experience. 

Although our programme is ideally designed for 2nd year students, we will consider applications from any current university or post graduate students that have a genuine interest in a career in law – our programme is simply designed to be best suited to 2nd year students that are beginning to think about their careers post degree and have enough knowledge of the legal sector to be able to take on more complex tasks that will enrich their experience.
