Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Business Development Executive to support the growth of Trethowans and manage the day-to-day operations of United Law, our regional support network for independent law firms. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on relationship-building, strategic thinking, and operational coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Support the Head of Business Development in implementing firm-wide BD strategies.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Trethowans’ practice areas.
- Assist in the preparation of pitches, proposals, and client presentations.
- Maintain and update CRM systems with client and prospect data.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform BD initiatives.
- Assist with Client Experience initiatives including client onboarding, feedback and satisfaction surveys.
United Law Network Management
- Facilitate incoming and outgoing referrals, including tracking fee share arrangements.
- Organise and promote United Law events, training sessions, and webinars (online and in-person).
- Support in maintaining relationships with member firms and ensure high levels of engagement.
- Collaborate with Trethowans’ legal teams to ensure referred matters are handled efficiently.
Marketing & Communications
- Support marketing campaigns and initiatives aligned with BD goals.
- Assist in the creation of promotional materials and digital content.
- Work alongside the marketing team to ensure BD elements of marketing events are fulfilled.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in business development, client relationship management, or legal operations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of legal services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
Desirable
- Experience working within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with regional legal networks or referral schemes.
- Event planning and coordination experience.
